Valley Theatre Company is at the very heart of live performance in Ellensburg and the Kittitas Valley. Our shows involve the talents of all age groups - offstage and onstage - for a community experience like no other in our valley. Generous contributions from donors like you helped make each year’s season possible. We are a family, and when you donate and come to one of our shows, you become part of that family, because you experience, with us, the immediacy that only live theater provides. 

 

As a community theatre company, we aspire to provide positive experiences for Ellensburg families. Our youth develop a passion for live performances that comes with the opportunity to feel the warmth of the stage lights on their faces and the camaraderie of an ensemble of players. Our adults get to have an outlet for their creativity that they cannot typically find in their usual daily lives and work together with others in the community whom otherwise they might never cross paths.

 

Over the past 25 years, we have expanded our theatrical offerings from one summer musical blockbuster to 5 regular events, including a youth production, a cabaret style dinner theatre, a Christmas music/poetry event, and a more edgy “After Dark” series with small cast plays and musicals. We’ve also added workshops in acting, technical theatre, stage combat and more. While our mission to provide quality community-based theatre remains unchanged, the number of actors, crew and patrons have grown as well, and there has been a greater need to offer more than just musicals. In the future, we have visions of being able to offer Shakespeare in the Park (at the new Unity Park), Reader’s Theatre, workshops, youth camps, and more!

 

In July 2023 we updated our organizational name from Valley Musical Theatre to Valley Theatre Company to better reflect the breadth and scope of performing arts that we deliver.

We have two ways you can support our ongoing work.  Become a Season Show Supporter, with a one-time or monthly donation, or donate to our Valley Theatre Company Scholarship Fund.

The Valley Theatre Company Scholarship will enter its third year in 2023. Each year we offer up to two $1,000 scholarships. The scholarship is intended as a reward to a graduating high school senior who has invested their time, effort and love into theater in our community—whether it be on-stage or backstage. The candidates for this scholarship need only be pursuing higher education and have participated in theater productions throughout their high school years. It is our hope that this scholarship will give encouragement to students to pursue their dreams (wherever they may take them) and feel value in the hard work they have given to Ellensburg theater. 

 

We couldn't do what we do without you.  Without you we wouldn't be able to offer countless opportunities to young people to learn to grow and express themselves before an audience.  Without you we couldn't bring live theater and music to thousands in our community with our quarterly theatrical shows.  Without you the professional quality of Valley Theatre Company productions that people in this area have come to expect would never become a reality.
